Good Evening MJ:
A short note for a rainy Friday:
Last week I mentioned prospects of a major announcement in the gift and giving area to the city. Today it is wonderful to note that due to the efforts of Mr. Kenny Martin, your city’s Economic Development Director, the Firehouse Subs Corporation will be donating 10 Phillips Heart Start Defibrillators for use in MJPD Patrol cars. Valued at over $16k, these devices will circulate throughout the city 24/7. While we still won’t have a machine for each patrol unit, thanks to kindness of the Firehouse Foundation, and Mr. Martin’s persistence, we’ll make major inroads to improve the first response capabilities of our force. Thanks Firehouse and well done Kenny.
This note went out this evening to all Home Owner Association and MJ church leaders:
“The Mt. Juliet Animal Shelter is experiencing unprecedented numbers of animals never before seen in its three year history. With nearly 90 animals housed this weekend the workload on staff, volunteers, and veterinary staff is extremely challenging. These historic numbers are also creating increased stress in the animals, making them more susceptible to illness and disease. Now is the time to please come by the shelter at 115 Industrial Drive, Mt. Juliet, TN or give us a call at 615-773-5533 for information on how you can adopt one of our wonderful animals.”
The staff and volunteers of the Shelter are extremely stretched. Here’s how you can help.
1. Adopt!
2. Volunteer!
3. Contribute to the Shelter’s non-profit support organization!
4. Donate animal food or other items!
MJ Splash Day at Charlie Daniels Park is coming . . . Saturday, 23 July. A great family fun day at no cost. Inflatables, water slides, games. Mark your calendar.
Finally, take a look at some updates to the MJ homepage on the web (www.cityofmtjuliet.org). There’s still a lot of work left to do, but Mr. Taylor and Mr. Adams, who run IT and TV matters for the city, have been hard at work to streamline and update the homepage. Make it one of your favorites, and don‘t forget, you can also follow activities and talk with others as Facebook friends of the MJ parks and MJPD.
Take care.

Mr. Robertson:
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful grant that you and your team have acquired for the City of Mt. Juliet! So glad to hear that we were chosen to be the recipients of these defibrillators as having one near at hand when an emergency demands on is the key to them being used successfully! Great job!
Also...really like the new look of the homepage. Our City Staff do an excellent job of keeping Mt. Juliet on the front edge of technology and innovation. Appreciate you all!
