Good Morning MJ:
It is my sincere hope that you and your family have had an extraordinary Thanksgiving. As for Darlene and I this was one of the few times in recent memory we were able to spend Thanksgiving with all our family. . . that made it extraordinary for us.
If you grow tired of shopping today please join the crew of the MJ Parks and Recreation staff at 12:00 at Mundy Park as they open Mt. Juliet's first Frisbee Golf Course. For the last couple months creating this 9 "hole" beauty out of the forest surrounding Mundy was a labor of love for the Rec staff. On behalf of Tim, Kat, Rose, Taylor, Jan, Tyler, Rocky, David, Kyle and all the professionals in Parks and Rec, join us at Mundy this weekend and see what's new in MJ.
Some other events on the calendar in the next few weeks include:
4-6 December: Holiday Art and Crafts Bazaar: Charlie Daniels Rec Center;
5 December: MJ Animal Shelter's First Anniversary Bash. 115 Industrial Drive, throughout the mid afternoon;
7 December: Special MJ Board of Commissioner (BOC) workshop and meeting. Starting at 5:00 p.m.;
12 December: MJ's Christmas Parade: Starting at 11:00 a.m., along Mt. Juliet Road;
14 December: MJ BOC meeting and workshop, starting at 5:00 p.m.; and
16 December: City Hall closed from 1200 to 2:30 for its annual Christmas luncheon.
Mr. Shannon Joyner, Deputy Public Works Director, invites you to tune into Channel 3 for updates on the North Mt. Juliet Road project. Mr. Joyner conducts a Q&A-based short community update every two weeks.
Finally, as we approach this magical time of the year, I want to say a special thanks to a group of tremendous public servants, who, regardless of whether its Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, the weekend or 2:00 a.m. are on duty protecting us. Today, as you watch the game on TV, digesting the remnants of your holiday feast; or while you are shopping for just that right gift, please remember our always vigilant Police, Fire and EMS personnel. They are the ones who stand ready, night and day to serve you. My thanks to each of them for all they do. Your contributions and sacrifices are appreciated.
Have a great week and talk with you later.
R. Robertson
